After a defensive mix-up in Ellsworth South FC's zone, Laurence Zamora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kris Westbrook came out of the goal and Laurence Zamora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kris Westbrook made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Laurence Zamora sent off a good shot on target. Enoch Holliday could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Kris Westbrook made a huge save. 14 minutes into the match, Cortland's goal looked a bit too open when Brett Kohler came free, but Greg Landis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Greg Landis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brett Kohler in the 15th minute of the match. After 29 minutes, Art Christie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ellsworth South FC and the Cortland players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ellsworth South FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Art Christie hit a great ball. Ken Wray's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kris Westbrook read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cortland's Teodoro Chang slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kris Westbrook. That made the score 1-0 after 33 minutes of play. If Winford Goff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Chang in the 41st minute of play forced Ellsworth South FC's goalkeeper Kris Westbrook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enoch Holliday scored 2-0 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kris Westbrook, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

Ellsworth South FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brett Kohler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brett Kohler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kris Westbrook showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enoch Holliday, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. If Teodoro Chang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brett Kohler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Greg Landis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greg Landis made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Luciano Storr sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Ellsworth South FC defense, Laurence Zamora kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kris Westbrook. The Ellsworth South FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kris Westbrook should have stopped the shot. In the 77th match minute, Ellsworth South FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donny Small to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the game, Cortland's Marshall Tanner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kris Westbrook made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enoch Holliday in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kris Westbrook saved Ellsworth South FC from getting behind. When Cortland's Enoch Holliday in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ellsworth South FC's goalie prevented a goal. Domenic Esparza lost his temper 88 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 100 played minutes Cortland got a freekick which was hit by Tyron Uhl. Cortland's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
