In the 13th match minute, New Iberia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio Crews to maneuver through the defense. Joseph Cao Xiao's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Remicio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to New Iberia AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Ken Denne hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the game, New Iberia AFC's Máximo Coimbra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oswaldo Sutton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Máximo Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Iberia AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Máximo Coimbra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Sutton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ken Denne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Jess Rainey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New Iberia AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smithtown the free kick. After 39 played minutes New Iberia AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jess Rainey. 42 minutes into the match, Máximo Coimbra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oswaldo Sutton. Smithtown's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Máximo Coimbra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Ken Denne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of New Iberia AFC booed when Smithtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Vang didn't get a good kick on the ball.

55 minutes into the match, New Iberia AFC's Máximo Coimbra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Sutton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee ignored New Iberia AFC's protests and gave Theron Pujols a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, New Iberia AFC's Theron Pujols got a free kick in the 70th minute. 70 minutes into the match, New Iberia AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Travis came free, but Eduardo Remicio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
