The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ethan Rutherford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fostoria AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ethan Rutherford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kris Westbrook breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kris Westbrook showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanton Ransom, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Brett Kohler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Whitley having to make a save. Kris Westbrook didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fostoria AFC. In the 36th minute, Michael Cadena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luciano Storr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Alfredo Whitley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Stanton Ransom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brett Kohler made a kick off. Alfredo Whitley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brett Kohler went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brett Kohler in the 54th minute of play forced Fostoria AFC's goalkeeper Alfredo Whitley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Luciano Storr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ethan Rutherford might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kris Westbrook. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ethan Rutherford ran back to his position shaking his head. Tuan Winkler kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Kris Westbrook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanton Ransom in the 66th minute of the match. Ethan Rutherford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Kris Westbrook made a huge save. 76 minutes into the match, Fostoria AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brett Kohler came free, but Alfredo Whitley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michael Cadena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Westbrook having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Luciano Storr notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Fostoria AFC's Alfredo Whitley. Alfredo Whitley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Ellsworth South FC's Earl Bullock got a free kick in the 87th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, Ellsworth South FC could leave the field as winners, despite Fostoria AFC having more of the ball for most of the match.
