Olin Pittman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Whitley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Chang, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Teodoro Chang charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodoro Chang the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Fostoria AFC booed when Cortland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Chang didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Laurence Zamora left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cortland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 28 minutes into the game, Fostoria AFC's Ali Mathis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Greg Landis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Cortland's Bob Leslie got a free kick in the 34th minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Stanton Ransom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fostoria AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stanton Ransom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Stanton Ransom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Enoch Holliday made the kick off in the second half. Greg Landis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanton Ransom in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Stanton Ransom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laurence Zamora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cortland's Enoch Holliday in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fostoria AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 67 minutes into the game, Laurence Zamora recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alfredo Whitley. Laurence Zamora showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Enoch Holliday struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Alfredo Whitley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cortland. Teodoro Chang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enoch Holliday in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Whitley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 76 played minutes Fostoria AFC got a freekick which was hit by Stanton Ransom. Oswaldo Burnham charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oswaldo Burnham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th match minute, Fostoria AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Burnham to maneuver through the defense. Enoch Holliday's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Alfredo Whitley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cortland's goalkeeper Greg Landis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Fostoria AFC booed when Cortland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bob Leslie didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Cortland could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fostoria AFC throughout the match.
