Alfredo Whitley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fostoria AFC's Stanton Ransom got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of New Iberia AFC booed when Fostoria AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Burnham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Whitley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Ortega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sterling McCain stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Ethan Rutherford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Bowser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanton Ransom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Joe Bowser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Randell Dalton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New Iberia AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fostoria AFC the free kick. In the 55th match minute, New Iberia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randell Dalton to maneuver through the defense. When Julio Crews fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Iberia AFC's protests and gave Julio Crews a yellow card for diving instead. Julio Crews hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Stanton Ransom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. New Iberia AFC's Joe Bowser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanton Ransom in the 65th minute of play. Joe Bowser showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Mathis in the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Stanton Ransom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fostoria AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanton Ransom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joe Bowser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 73rd minute Stanton Ransom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Bowser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Crews was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 75th minute, Julio Crews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ethan Rutherford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joe Bowser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ethan Rutherford in the 81st minute of play. Joe Bowser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Mathis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chants of New Iberia AFC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Fostoria AFC had held the ball for most of the match.
