Jeramy Langston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Whitley having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Enrique Ball ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredo Whitley was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Michael Cadena hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 32 played minutes Piney got a freekick which was hit by Monroe Kirkpatrick. Ethan Rutherford struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Ty Yoder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fostoria AFC. Alfredo Whitley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mervin Waddell in the 36th minute of play. Mervin Waddell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Alfredo Whitley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Piney's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Stanton Ransom 46 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jeramy Langston to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Jeramy Langston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Whitley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monroe Kirkpatrick charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Monroe Kirkpatrick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 74th match minute, Piney was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monroe Kirkpatrick to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ethan Rutherford during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored Fostoria AFC's protests and gave Ali Mathis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Fostoria AFC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Ali Mathis hit a great ball. Monroe Kirkpatrick hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Olin Pittman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ty Yoder. Piney's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Quincy Holliday fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fostoria AFC's protests and gave Quincy Holliday a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th minute, Mervin Waddell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Piney's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
