With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wendell Whitfield in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kris Westbrook saved Ellsworth South FC from getting behind. Darrell Curran made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Brett Kohler sent off a good shot on target. Kris Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Devin Anderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lazaro Ruth in the 14th minute of play forced Ellsworth South FC's goalkeeper Kris Westbrook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kris Westbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wendell Whitfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kris Westbrook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Devin Anderson in the 16th minute of play. Glen Matlock hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Luciano Storr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Ellsworth South FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lazaro Ruth came free, but Kris Westbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Devin Anderson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kris Westbrook. Ellsworth South FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Devin Anderson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Wendell Whitfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 minutes of play, Bartonville's Lazaro Ruth made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kris Westbrook was left in no man's land by his defense there! 45 minutes into the game, Wendell Whitfield was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bartonville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ellsworth South FC the free kick. Wendell Whitfield hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brett Kohler made a kick off. Wendell Whitfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kris Westbrook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute of the match, Lazaro Ruth tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kris Westbrook saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Devin Anderson got free with Kris Westbrook in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Winford Goff struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Darrell Curran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ellsworth South FC. Kris Westbrook made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Devin Anderson sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ellsworth South FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! Lazaro Ruth walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ellsworth South FC! In the 81st minute of the game, Bartonville got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. The supporters of Bartonville booed when Ellsworth South FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Storr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bartonville's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
