The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cruz McCann during the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Marino in the 8th minute of play forced Malakas FC's goalkeeper Landon Puckett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denny Calvert came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Malakas FC's Blaine Tyler. But to his dismay, Blaine Tyler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 17 minutes of play, Malakas FC's Neil Pierre made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denny Calvert was left in no man's land by his defense there! Neil Pierre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denny Calvert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Denny Calvert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blaine Tyler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neil Pierre might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denny Calvert. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Neil Pierre ran back to his position shaking his head. Blaine Tyler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Calvert having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Neil Pierre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denny Calvert. AYG SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Neil Pierre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Denny Calvert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Pierre, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Denny Calvert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neil Pierre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 43 minutes, Val Hogue mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AYG SK and the Malakas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Malakas FC a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Monroe Gates, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of AYG SK's Denny Calvert. 0-4. Cruz McCann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

After a defensive mix-up in AYG SK's zone, Blaine Tyler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denny Calvert came out of the goal and Blaine Tyler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neil Pierre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Denny Calvert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 89 minutes, Blaine Tyler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malakas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blaine Tyler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neil Pierre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denny Calvert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Pierre, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 96th minute Neil Pierre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denny Calvert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
