Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) MONTERREY's Hal Glass started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Dwight Webster notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Hawkinsville's Jefferson Winter. Jefferson Winter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Willie Jenkins came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Hawkinsville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willie Jenkins couldn't finish the play. In the 9th minute Johnny Ludwig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scotty Aldrich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Monroe Dyer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Scotty Aldrich was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cesar Irving's late challenge caught a MONTERREY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesar Irving helped the player get up and apologised. Monroe Dyer charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Monroe Dyer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Monroe Dyer hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Monroe Dyer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Scotty Aldrich was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. If Willie Jenkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jefferson Winter came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by MONTERREY's Dwight Webster. But to his dismay, Dwight Webster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Jefferson Winter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hal Glass in the 26th minute of play. Scotty Aldrich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franklin Irvin, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Hawkinsville's Franklin Irvin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Scotty Aldrich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 35 minutes of play, MONTERREY's Dwight Webster made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jefferson Winter was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ismael Garner was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 44 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Monroe Dyer was the one to do the kick off.
