Denny Calvert was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of AYG SK booed when MONTERREY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bill Whalen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Scotty Aldrich acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 31st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Val Hogue. Scotty Aldrich didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 33rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Hal Glass received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Denny Calvert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AYG SK's Denny Calvert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hal Glass in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute, Hal Glass left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MONTERREY fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. After the first half MONTERREY were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hal Glass made a kick off. Dwight Webster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When MONTERREY's Hal Glass in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AYG SK's goalie prevented a goal. AYG SK's Denny Calvert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hal Glass in the 70th minute of play. Dwight Webster struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Denny Calvert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MONTERREY. Dwight Webster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denny Calvert having to interfere. If Dwight Webster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
