With an extended leg and a bit of luck Al Carson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A throw-in in the 13th minute of the game was made by Stewart Fuller with Dave Ashby as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a defensive mix-up in Port Aransas FC's zone, Carl Dailey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Al Carson came out of the goal and Carl Dailey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Goodson in the 20th minute of play forced Idaho Magicka FC's goalkeeper Riley Page to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Al Carson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Stevenson in the 23rd minute of play. Carl Dailey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Carson having to interfere. Idaho Magicka FC's Riley Page played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Goodson in the 28th minute of play. Sidney Barnett took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Riley Page. Riley Page dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Riley Page took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sid Brunson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Port Aransas FC's Sid Brunson got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If John Goodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. In the 60th minute, John Goodson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Ismael Stevenson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Al Carson was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. The supporters of Port Aransas FC booed when Idaho Magicka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toby Esparza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Port Aransas FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Idaho Magicka FC had controlled the match.
