Rudy Kimball fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Magee having to interfere. Rodrigo Magee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudy Kimball in the 11th minute of play. Rodrigo Magee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Kimball, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Chad Ferris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arcola Youth Academy's Rodrigo Magee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Kimball in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute, Edward Ruffin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudy Kimball fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Magee having to interfere. Rudy Kimball recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sean Lamb struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Brady Bergstrom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arcola Youth Academy. After a rather tough play, Maryland Heights's Arnoldo Horne got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Maryland Heights's Brady Bergstrom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Ruffin in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Randall Hinkle to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Arcola Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Sheffield to maneuver through the defense. Chad Ferris took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodrigo Magee. Arcola Youth Academy's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 54th play minute Rudy Kimball came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rodrigo Magee. 0-2. Rudy Kimball blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodrigo Magee having to make a save. Rodrigo Magee was a little too slow when Rudy Kimball got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-3. Brady Bergstrom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Ruffin in the 67th minute of play. If Rudy Kimball had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Arcola Youth Academy's Rodrigo Magee got control of the ball when Chad Ferris tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rudy Kimball sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Rudy Kimball got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Arcola Youth Academy booed when Maryland Heights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chad Ferris didn't get a good kick on the ball.
