Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rui Marques started the match with the kick off. Florian Boudreaux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the game, Salvador Spicer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Detroit AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New York Black Eagles FC the free kick. In the 7th minute, Salvador Spicer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Detroit AFC's Jonas Siegel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florian Boudreaux in the 11th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Jordan Andersen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New York Black Eagles FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Detroit AFC the free kick. In the 16th match minute, New York Black Eagles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordan Andersen to maneuver through the defense. Detroit AFC's Jonas Siegel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florian Boudreaux in the 19th minute of play. Jonas Siegel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florian Boudreaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sal Carbajal made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Rui Marques sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, Florian Boudreaux got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 40 minutes, Stevie Peterson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Detroit AFC and the New York Black Eagles FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Stevie Peterson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Detroit AFC's zone, Ronald Flaherty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Siegel came out of the goal and Ronald Flaherty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florian Boudreaux to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonas Siegel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Boudreaux in the 53rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ronald Flaherty managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York Black Eagles FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Flaherty was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Siegel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the game, Young King cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Sal Carbajal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Florian Boudreaux's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Jonas Siegel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Phillip Everett's late challenge caught a Detroit AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phillip Everett helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, New York Black Eagles FC's Phillip Everett got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 76th match minute, New York Black Eagles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cory Henry to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Jonas Siegel managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when New York Black Eagles FC's Florian Boudreaux fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Cory Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Rui Marques sped through New York Black Eagles FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sal Carbajal. Many of New York Black Eagles FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. New York Black Eagles FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Detroit AFC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
