Detroit AFC's Rui Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute Young King shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Eaton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusebio Eaton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Young King, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute, Salvador Spicer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, UD Azucar's Dean Leal got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stevie Peterson in the 41st minute of play forced UD Azucar's goalkeeper Eusebio Eaton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wiley Hanson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, UD Azucar's Eusebio Eaton got control of the ball when Rui Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 59th minute Stevie Peterson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Eaton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Detroit AFC's Stevie Peterson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eusebio Eaton. Eusebio Eaton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Eusebio Eaton made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Young King sent off a good shot on target. The referee felt a red card was in order, 90 minutes into the game, when Harvey Layton put in a rough tackle. 89 minutes into the game, one of UD Azucar:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
