With a couple of smart ball manuevers Casey Whitfield in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ramon Hargrove saved PURDUE from getting behind. When Washburn FC's Casey Whitfield in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PURDUE's goalie prevented a goal. Milan Hurley succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Isaiah Grove made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Milan Hurley sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the game, Brent Benoit was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PURDUE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Washburn FC the free kick. Brent Benoit kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Washburn FC's Robbie Hicks shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramon Hargrove came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Washburn FC reached it. After having played for 25 minutes, Casey Whitfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Washburn FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Casey Whitfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 28 played minutes Washburn FC got a freekick which was hit by Robbie Hicks. In the 32nd minute, Florian Hinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Washburn FC's Casey Whitfield in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 37th minute Casey Whitfield shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Hargrove saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 played minutes PURDUE got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Banks. Casey Whitfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ramon Hargrove tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Caleb West hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casey Whitfield stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Washburn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robbie Hicks to maneuver through the defense. Washburn FC were furious when David Olson was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 58th minute, one of Washburn FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Washburn FC. Caleb West's late challenge caught a Washburn FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caleb West helped the player get up and apologised. When Duane Glenn came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Washburn FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duane Glenn couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, Washburn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Milan Hurley came free, but Isaiah Grove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milan Hurley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaiah Grove having to interfere. Brent Benoit hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. PURDUE's Ramon Hargrove played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duane Glenn in the 74th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Scottie Reid got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ramon Hargrove quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Maurice Felton charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maurice Felton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Maurice Felton hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the match, Washburn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurice Felton came free, but Isaiah Grove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, PURDUE's goal looked a bit too open when Duane Glenn came free, but Ramon Hargrove reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isaiah Grove made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Felton in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duane Glenn in the 94th minute of play forced PURDUE's goalkeeper Ramon Hargrove to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Hinson during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute, Florian Hinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramon Hargrove stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duane Glenn's shot from short distance in the 97th minute.
