Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rudy Stovall started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Walnut Grove got a freekick which was hit by Mckinley Mock. Wiley Patten charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wiley Patten the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th match minute, Monmouth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiley Patten to maneuver through the defense. Lenny Hartley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalton Gabriel in the 14th minute of the match. If Dalton Gabriel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Monmouth's goal looked a bit too open when Dalton Gabriel came free, but Lenny Hartley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Walnut Grove's goal looked a bit too open when Rudy Stovall came free, but Vernon McBride reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rudy Stovall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Vernon McBride tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Dustin Hemphill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walnut Grove's supporters rose to their feet, but Dustin Hemphill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenny Hartley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Walnut Grove's goalkeeper Vernon McBride, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Dante Cho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Walnut Grove's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monmouth the free kick. Walnut Grove's Vernon McBride played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Stovall in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dante Cho to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalton Gabriel in the 52nd minute of play forced Monmouth's goalkeeper Lenny Hartley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute, Dante Cho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Cho might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lenny Hartley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dante Cho ran back to his position shaking his head. Vernon McBride made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Haynes in the 61st minute of play. If Dante Cho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito Grace might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vernon McBride. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vito Grace ran back to his position shaking his head. Vernon McBride made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Grace in the 69th minute of play. Dalton Gabriel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Lenny Hartley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 75th match minute, Monmouth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Haynes to maneuver through the defense. When Sylvester Copeland fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monmouth's protests and gave Sylvester Copeland a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute, Deon Westbrook hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Vito Grace's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vernon McBride was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. If Rudy Stovall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lenny Hartley was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Dante Cho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dante Cho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. In the 94th minute, Rudy Stovall left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monmouth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Monmouth supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Walnut Grove's performance. The match ended with a win for Walnut Grove.
