Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Yong Babcock made the kick off which started today's match. Robby Fairchild recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Sorenson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toby Baxter in the 7th minute of play. Alvin Fields's late challenge caught a New Bern FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvin Fields helped the player get up and apologised. Alvin Fields kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After some careless play in the New Bern FC defense, Roscoe Hurd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Sorenson. The New Bern FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Sorenson should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, INTER MIAMI's Alvin Fields got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute, Robby Fairchild got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of INTER MIAMI booed when New Bern FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miles Connell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute Roscoe Hurd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Sorenson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 39 played minutes New Bern FC got a freekick which was hit by Ari Traylor. Roscoe Hurd struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Carlos Sorenson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTER MIAMI. 46 minutes into the match, New Bern FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Cummins came free, but Carlos Sorenson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Yong Babcock dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Monty Pepper, 1-2. The New Bern FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. INTER MIAMI were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Ronny Cummins made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yong Babcock in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Monty Pepper saved INTER MIAMI from getting behind. Monty Pepper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yong Babcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Monty Pepper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miles Connell, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute, Donnie Wang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 67 minutes on the clock, Casey Beard commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for INTER MIAMI! After 71 minutes, Ronny Cummins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the INTER MIAMI and the New Bern FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of New Bern FC booed when INTER MIAMI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toby Baxter didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 minutes of play, New Bern FC's Miles Connell made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Monty Pepper was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, New Bern FC's Ali Leonard got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After a rather tough play, INTER MIAMI's Weston Lackey got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 84th minute of the match Nicholas Doud sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Monty Pepper skillfully saved the ball. Monty Pepper didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ali Leonard went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Monty Pepper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yong Babcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. INTER MIAMI's Roscoe Hurd got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miles Connell in the 97th minute of play forced INTER MIAMI's goalkeeper Monty Pepper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ari Traylor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. New Bern FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
