Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The referee ignored Monte Vista AFC's protests and gave Whitney Lofton a yellow card for diving instead. Whitney Lofton hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. If Yong Babcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When New Bern FC's Yong Babcock in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monte Vista AFC's goalie prevented a goal. When New Bern FC's Yong Babcock in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Miles Connell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie Carbajal having to interfere. Willie Carbajal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yong Babcock, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monte Vista AFC's goalkeeper Willie Carbajal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yong Babcock in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willie Carbajal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miles Connell in the 28th minute of play forced Monte Vista AFC's goalkeeper Willie Carbajal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willie Carbajal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yong Babcock in the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yong Babcock in the 35th minute of play forced Monte Vista AFC's goalkeeper Willie Carbajal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Miles Connell made a precise shot to the right of Willie Carbajal. Monte Vista AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When New Bern FC's Yong Babcock in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yong Babcock made a kick off. The New Bern FC fans' excitement grew in the 51st match minute when New Bern FC's Yong Babcock looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ali Leonard took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Willie Carbajal. Willie Carbajal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Yong Babcock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie Carbajal having to interfere. The supporters of New Bern FC booed when Monte Vista AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Townsend didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, New Bern FC's Yong Babcock sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Willie Carbajal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Monte Vista AFC defense, Yong Babcock kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Willie Carbajal. The Monte Vista AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Willie Carbajal should have stopped the shot. After 73 played minutes Monte Vista AFC got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Townsend. Miles Connell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Willie Carbajal made a huge save. Carlos Sorenson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Weldon Numbers in the 81st minute of the match. Weldon Numbers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Sorenson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerald Vigil went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. Gerald Vigil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Monte Vista AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! New Bern FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
