Roland Fair recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in INTER MIAMI's zone, Ignacio Beasley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Monty Pepper came out of the goal and Ignacio Beasley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leif Milligan hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Monty Pepper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignacio Beasley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jackson Huntley kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robby Fairchild in the 27th minute of play forced Oviedo's goalkeeper Bernie Gibson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernie Gibson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Fair, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Jackson Huntley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernie Gibson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, INTER MIAMI's Toby Baxter got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 34 played minutes, Oviedo's Trinidad James shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Monty Pepper came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oviedo reached it. In the 37th minute, Jackson Huntley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Monty Pepper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trinidad James in the 38th minute of play. In the 44th minute Ronny Cummins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernie Gibson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roscoe Hurd in the 45th minute of play forced Oviedo's goalkeeper Bernie Gibson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Ronny Cummins made a precise shot to the right of Bernie Gibson. Oviedo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The Oviedo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. INTER MIAMI were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronny Cummins made a kick off. Monty Pepper showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lawrence Conley, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, INTER MIAMI's Jackson Huntley got a free kick in the 54th minute. INTER MIAMI's Monty Pepper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Beasley in the 64th minute of play. Jackson Huntley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernie Gibson having to make a save. If Roscoe Hurd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland Fair could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Bernie Gibson made a huge save. Ronny Cummins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernie Gibson having to interfere. Bernie Gibson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roland Fair in the 82nd minute. Oviedo's Bernie Gibson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jackson Huntley in the 85th minute of play. Bernie Gibson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roscoe Hurd, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Ronny Cummins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INTER MIAMI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Cummins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toby Baxter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Roscoe Hurd dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bernie Gibson, 0-2. When the match was over INTER MIAMI could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Oviedo throughout the match.
