Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After 5 played minutes, Monte Vista AFC's Solomon Melvin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bernie Gibson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Monte Vista AFC reached it. Oviedo's Ignacio Beasley got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ignacio Beasley struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Willie Carbajal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oviedo. In the 9th minute, Lawrence Conley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oviedo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Monte Vista AFC defense, Lawrence Conley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Willie Carbajal. The Monte Vista AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Willie Carbajal should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, Oviedo's goalkeeper Bernie Gibson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerald Vigil. After 20 minutes, Franklin Townsend mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Monte Vista AFC and the Oviedo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Oviedo booed when Monte Vista AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Townsend didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trinidad James, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Weldon Numbers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernie Gibson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute Lawrence Conley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Carbajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Lawrence Conley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oviedo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lawrence Conley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute Ignacio Beasley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Carbajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklin Townsend was shown his second yellow card after 42 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Willie Carbajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrence Conley in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Ignacio Beasley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oviedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ignacio Beasley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willie Carbajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 48th minute Ignacio Beasley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Carbajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Ignacio Beasley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Willie Carbajal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignacio Beasley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Willie Carbajal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lawrence Conley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Willie Carbajal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Ignacio Beasley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Willie Carbajal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 73 minutes into the match, Oviedo's Ignacio Beasley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Willie Carbajal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Monte Vista AFC's Willie Carbajal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Monte Vista AFC from getting a goal against them. Solomon Melvin hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Oviedo's Lawrence Conley got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Monte Vista AFC's zone, Ignacio Beasley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willie Carbajal came out of the goal and Ignacio Beasley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Leif Milligan fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oviedo's protests and gave Leif Milligan a yellow card for diving instead. After 84 played minutes Oviedo got a freekick which was hit by Leif Milligan. Bernie Gibson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerald Vigil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerald Vigil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernie Gibson having to interfere. After 93 played minutes Oviedo got a freekick which was hit by Trinidad James. Bernie Gibson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gerald Vigil went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When the match was over Oviedo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Monte Vista AFC throughout the match.
