Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Yong Babcock started the match with the kick off. Pablo Sweet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yong Babcock in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yong Babcock in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Sweet saved Poplar Tent from getting behind. 7 minutes into the game, Russ Dobbins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poplar Tent's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Bern FC the free kick. In the 9th minute Yong Babcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Sweet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Sorenson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Christian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes of play, New Bern FC's Yong Babcock made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pablo Sweet was left in no man's land by his defense there! Donnie Wang hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Carlos Sorenson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Christian in the 29th minute of play. Sergio Christian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Yong Babcock notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Poplar Tent's Pablo Sweet. Pablo Sweet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pablo Sweet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yong Babcock in the 39th minute of play. If Yong Babcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Leonard in the 42nd minute of play forced Poplar Tent's goalkeeper Pablo Sweet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Russ Dobbins kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Carlos Sorenson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Christian in the 45th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the game, Sergio Christian recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Sorenson. Sergio Christian showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Salvador Goins made the kick off in the second half. Salvador Goins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Carlos Sorenson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergio Christian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Sorenson having to interfere. After some careless play in the New Bern FC defense, Salvador Goins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Sorenson. The New Bern FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Sorenson should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Yong Babcock put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Pablo Sweet. Yong Babcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Pablo Sweet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute Yong Babcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Sweet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Sweet acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 79th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Orville Mueller. 81 minutes into the game, Fernando Orozco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poplar Tent's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Bern FC the free kick. The goalkeeper, Pablo Sweet, was totally fooled by New Bern FC's Nicholas Doud, who 82 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yong Babcock in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Sweet saved Poplar Tent from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Salvador Goins in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Sorenson saved New Bern FC from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Yong Babcock reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pablo Sweet. The goal made the score 2-5. In the 93rd minute Yong Babcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Sweet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The New Bern FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
