After 10 played minutes Yong Babcock rounded New York Red Bulls FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. With his leg Sam McIntyre managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when New Bern FC's Yong Babcock fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miles Connell in the 14th minute of play forced New York Red Bulls FC's goalkeeper Sam McIntyre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Tommy Watson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 16 played minutes New Bern FC got a freekick which was hit by Ali Leonard. Yong Babcock blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sam McIntyre having to make a save. 20 minutes into the match, New York Red Bulls FC's goalkeeper Sam McIntyre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matthew Tolbert. Carlos Sorenson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of New York Red Bulls FC booed when New Bern FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donnie Wang didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, New Bern FC's Matthew Tolbert got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Yong Babcock reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sam McIntyre. The goal made the score 3-0. Sam McIntyre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yong Babcock in the 33rd minute of the match. Carlos Sorenson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilson do Vale's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yong Babcock got free with Sam McIntyre in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yong Babcock kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. New York Red Bulls FC's Sam McIntyre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save New York Red Bulls FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yong Babcock in the 47th minute of play forced New York Red Bulls FC's goalkeeper Sam McIntyre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The New York Red Bulls FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sam McIntyre should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Cícero Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. New York Red Bulls FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Sorenson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sam McIntyre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Leonard in the 67th minute of the match. New York Red Bulls FC's Sam McIntyre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miles Connell in the 74th minute of play. Sam McIntyre was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of New York Red Bulls FC booed when New Bern FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Tolbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, New Bern FC's Miles Connell got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 99th minute, Yong Babcock left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Bern FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-2. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. New Bern FC fully deserved thier win.
