Seven Oaks
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Art Abrams made the kick off and thus started the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stephan Spears in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leo Ragsdale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes into the game, Seven Oaks's Bradley Flynn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Schmidt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The San Jose Sparrows fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when San Jose Sparrows's Stephan Spears looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd rose to their feet as Seven Oaks's Bradley Flynn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Schmidt. That made the score 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. 26 minutes into the game, San Jose Sparrows's Stephan Spears nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leo Ragsdale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After 29 played minutes San Jose Sparrows got a freekick which was hit by Thad Hickman. Bradley Flynn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leo Ragsdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thad Hickman in the 33rd minute of the match. Pedro Schmidt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Art Abrams's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Stephan Spears fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Ragsdale having to interfere. Bennett Clayton charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bennett Clayton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, San Jose Sparrows's Bennett Clayton got a free kick in the 41st minute. The audience was convinced that Stephan Spears's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leo Ragsdale was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. When San Jose Sparrows's Stephan Spears in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Seven Oaks's goalie prevented a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stephan Spears to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Art Abrams shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stephen Mathews hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Leo Ragsdale was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Thad Hickman showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 56 minute of play. San Jose Sparrows's Pedro Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephen Mathews in the 63rd minute of play. Leo Ragsdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Pedro Schmidt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bradley Flynn went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. Leo Ragsdale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Spears in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Ryan Sherman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seven Oaks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Jose Sparrows the free kick. In the 85th match minute, Seven Oaks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryan Sherman to maneuver through the defense. If Stephan Spears had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Seven Oaks's Leo Ragsdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephan Spears in the 89th minute of play. Pedro Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradley Flynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Jose Sparrows's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
