Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5250, Seating: 1610, VIP seats: 140) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Leon Fernandez kicked off to start the match. Leon Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Schmidt having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, San Jose Sparrows's goal looked a bit too open when Shawn Keene came free, but Pedro Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Stephan Spears managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Jose Sparrows's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephan Spears was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th match minute, San Jose Sparrows was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lee Presley to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute, Jerold Boyce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 32 minutes, Leon Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Donalsonville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Fernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Russ Whitney's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Donalsonville's Leon Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Fernandez in the 40th minute of the match. San Jose Sparrows's Pedro Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Fernandez in the 42nd minute of play. After some careless play in the San Jose Sparrows defense, Leon Fernandez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Schmidt. The San Jose Sparrows fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Schmidt should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stephan Spears made a kick off. Ward Shaffer hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 75thth minute of the game Stephan Spears who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Donalsonville's Evan Mullins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Leon Fernandez sped through San Jose Sparrows's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Schmidt. A collision led to Donalsonville getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Russ Whitney hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, Donalsonville's Leon Fernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Schmidt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th match minute, San Jose Sparrows was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thad Hickman to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, Donalsonville's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Spears came free, but Evan Mullins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute Leon Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Russ Whitney during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of San Jose Sparrows booed when Donalsonville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russ Whitney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leon Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Pedro Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, San Jose Sparrows's Pedro Schmidt got control of the ball when Leon Fernandez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Donalsonville played a much better game than San Jose Sparrows and deserved their victory. The San Jose Sparrows players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
