An unexpectedly hard shot by Dwight Dotson in the 29th minute of play forced Hillsborough's goalkeeper Donald Kennedy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute Sherwood Pujols shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald Kennedy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donald May made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sherwood Pujols during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Stoughton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherwood Pujols to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute Jack Costello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donald May saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dwight Dotson fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stoughton's protests and gave Dwight Dotson a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Stoughton's Dwight Dotson got a free kick in the 71st minute. The supporters of Hillsborough booed when Stoughton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andre Dickson didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Hillsborough getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Lloyd Arredondo hit a great ball. Sherwood Pujolss short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Donald Kennedy to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 94th match minute, Stoughton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dwight Dotson to maneuver through the defense. In the 95thth minute of the game Jack Costello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stoughton's Donald May was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 97 minutes of play, Hillsborough's Jack Costello made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donald May was left in no man's land by his defense there!
