The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Rudolph Stevenson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neal Crane in the 14th minute of play. Neal Crane kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Alec Ellison's late challenge caught a Carpinteria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iberia United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Wilkes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zackary Cunningham couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute Brock Paquette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolph Stevenson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bennett Russ took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Wilkes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph Donaldson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bennett Russ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Carpinteria fans cheered their team off the field, for while Iberia United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
