When Ted Castillo came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Bonne Terre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Castillo couldn't finish the play. Arnoldo Billings sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Tommie Phipps hit a great ball. In the 18th minute of the match Ari Paquette shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roger Gustavsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Manchester United's Roger Gustavsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mike Shaw in the 20th minute of play. In the 25th minute Mike Shaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Gustavsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roger Gustavsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ted Castillo went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Santos Lehman kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute of the match Mike Shaw sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roger Gustavsson skillfully saved the ball. Roger Gustavsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Castillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mike Shaw struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Roger Gustavsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bonne Terre. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Arnoldo Billings stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Gustavsson came out of the goal and Arnoldo Billings tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taylor Jeffers kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Felix Robison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jon Beyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Bonne Terre were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Ari Paquette hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Roger Gustavsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mike Shaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ted Castillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Robison scored 1-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jon Beyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Felix Robison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Beyer having to interfere. If Mike Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Bonne Terre getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Cameron Hadley hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's Tommie Phipps got a free kick in the 85th minute. Ted Castillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Roger Gustavsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
