With a little luck, Southside USA's Jonah Bates got control of the ball when Isidro Hewitt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ismael Kline showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Cunha in the 24th minute of the match. If Casey Michel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27th minute, RiverCity Gamblers's Gerald McRae ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonah Bates. Jonah Bates yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 29 minutes into the game, Southside USA's Eddie Lin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ismael Kline made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Ismael Kline showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Lin in the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Vernon in the 36th minute of play forced Southside USA's goalkeeper Jonah Bates to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eddie Lin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddie Lin in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ismael Kline saved RiverCity Gamblers from getting behind. 42 minutes into the match, Gerald McRae dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonah Bates, 2-2. A collision led to RiverCity Gamblers getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Angelo Dunbar hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ismael Kline made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Lin in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of RiverCity Gamblers booed when Southside USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Playo Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddie Lin in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ismael Kline saved RiverCity Gamblers from getting behind. In the 66thth minute of the game Eddie Lin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RiverCity Gamblers's Ismael Kline was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Eric Vernon fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RiverCity Gamblers's protests and gave Eric Vernon a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes RiverCity Gamblers got a freekick which was hit by Eric Vernon. Ismael Kline was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Eddie Lin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eddie Lin really showed his touch with that goal: 2-5. Jonah Bates didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eric Vernon went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-5 was the resulting score. 77 minutes into the match, RiverCity Gamblers's goal looked a bit too open when Eddie Lin came free, but Ismael Kline reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Southside USA's Jonah Bates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradly Root in the 79th minute of play. Jonah Bates showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradly Root, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Manuel Cunha in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ismael Kline, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 82nd minute, Eddie Lin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angelo Dunbar kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Scottie Bates charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ismael Kline was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the final whistle sounded Southside USA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than RiverCity Gamblers.
