But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duncan Scales couldn't finish the play. In the 44thth minute of the game Tom Brand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 45 played minutes Grimes FC got a freekick which was hit by Anton Hood. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jed Gilmore made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Grimes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Timmy Flint came free, but Fletcher Huffman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duncan Scales received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Brand got free with Fletcher Huffman in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, Duncan Scales notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman. Fletcher Huffman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 2-4 when Jed Gilmore sped through Pinch's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santiago Sizemore. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Louie Welch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinch's supporters rose to their feet, but Louie Welch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fletcher Huffman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Brand got free with Fletcher Huffman in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 74 minutes into the match, Grimes FC's goalkeeper Fletcher Huffman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tom Brand. In the 88th minute, Louie Welch reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fletcher Huffman. The goal made the score 2-5. Fletcher Huffman made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Tom Brand sent off a good shot on target. The Pinch supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pinch would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
