Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jed Gilmore took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute of the match Jacques Wade shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tory Pringle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Grimes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lonnie Cervantes came free, but Fletcher Huffman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Lonnie Cervantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fletcher Huffman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tory Pringle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jed Gilmore in the 24th minute of play. When Del Clements fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grimes FC's protests and gave Del Clements a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Carrboro booed when Grimes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Del Clements didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 played minutes Grimes FC got a freekick which was hit by Myles Burke. Lonnie Cervantes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Fletcher Huffman made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lonnie Cervantes in the 30th minute of play forced Grimes FC's goalkeeper Fletcher Huffman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Carrboro's Lonnie Cervantes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fletcher Huffman. Fletcher Huffman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lonnie Cervantes in the 42nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lonnie Cervantes got free with Fletcher Huffman in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the match, Lonnie Cervantes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fletcher Huffman, 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacques Doe made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jed Gilmore in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tory Pringle saved Carrboro from getting behind. In the 54th minute Lonnie Cervantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fletcher Huffman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacques Wade kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Lonnie Cervantes made a precise shot to the right of Fletcher Huffman. Grimes FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 66th minute, Frank Brandt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fletcher Huffman was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 70th minute, Jed Gilmore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lonnie Cervantes took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fletcher Huffman. Fletcher Huffman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Frank Brandt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Fletcher Huffman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Carrboro's Gabriel Weaver got a free kick in the 76th minute. Jed Gilmore had several of the Carrboro's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 78 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 5-1 score and a disappointed Tory Pringle as he didn't even see the shot coming. The supporters of Grimes FC booed when Carrboro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Brandt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tory Pringle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jed Gilmore, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. With a little luck, Carrboro's Tory Pringle got control of the ball when Del Clements tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 94thth minute of the game Lonnie Cervantes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jacques Doe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carrboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacques Doe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fletcher Huffman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacques Doe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carrboro walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
