Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gerald McRae fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RiverCity Gamblers's protests and gave Gerald McRae a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd match minute, RiverCity Gamblers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerald McRae to maneuver through the defense. Ismael Kline took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josh Thomason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerald McRae kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Columbia's Josh Thomason sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ismael Kline narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Kelly Loomis made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Kline. RiverCity Gamblers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Kelly Loomis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Kline. RiverCity Gamblers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kelly Loomis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Casey Michel kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 21stth minute. Though ot was a great shot Columbia's keeper Freddie Parish was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Columbia's Freddie Parish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradly Root in the 25th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Kelly Loomis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Kline. RiverCity Gamblers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kelly Loomis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Freddie Parish made an important save on a dangerous shot by Casey Michel in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute, RiverCity Gamblers's Bradly Root ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Freddie Parish. Freddie Parish yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Casey Michel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Freddie Parish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kelly Loomis took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ismael Kline. Ismael Kline dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kelly Loomis to make the kick off. Josh Thomasons short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Ismael Kline to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 55 minutes into the match, Bradly Root notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Columbia's Freddie Parish. Freddie Parish was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 59 minutes into the match, Columbia's goal looked a bit too open when Bradly Root came free, but Freddie Parish reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Parish made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradly Root in the 61st minute of play. Bradly Root received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Freddie Parish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Columbia's Freddie Parish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradly Root in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradly Root in the 67th minute of play forced Columbia's goalkeeper Freddie Parish to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bradly Root sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddie Parish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casey Michel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casey Michel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Scottie Bates hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The long shot by Glen Carmona in the 95th minute really tested Ismael Kline's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Columbia's Freddie Parish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradly Root in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Columbia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
