American kids's Fabrício Sá proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save American kids from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Acosta in the 16th minute of play forced Grimes FC's goalkeeper Fletcher Huffman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Rigoberto Acosta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fletcher Huffman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes of play, American kids's Jesus Dodson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fletcher Huffman was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the match, Adalberto Hines notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of American kids's Fabrício Sá. Fabrício Sá was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 34 minutes into the match, American kids's goalkeeper Fabrício Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jed Gilmore. Fletcher Huffman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Acosta in the 35th minute of play. Grimes FC's Fletcher Huffman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Acosta in the 36th minute of play. Lanny Neely kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Fletcher Huffman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darell Quintana in the 41st minute of play. Darell Quintana took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fletcher Huffman. Fletcher Huffman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 44th minute, Benjamim Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fletcher Huffman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Acosta in the 48th minute of play. After the first half American kids were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jed Gilmore to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Benjamim Paiva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fletcher Huffman. That made the score 1-3 in the 54 minute of play. Jesus Dodson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Fletcher Huffman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jed Gilmore charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jed Gilmore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of American kids booed when Grimes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jed Gilmore didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 73 played minutes Darell Quintana rounded Grimes FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-4. Fletcher Huffman came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by American kids's Benjamim Paiva. But to his dismay, Benjamim Paiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. The supporters of Grimes FC booed when American kids was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Acosta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darell Quintana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fletcher Huffman having to interfere. The supporters of Grimes FC booed when American kids was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fletcher Huffman made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Benjamim Paiva sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle sounded American kids left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Grimes FC.
