Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bradly Root started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Casey Michel got free with Tory Pringle in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Boyce Riddle fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carrboro's protests and gave Boyce Riddle a yellow card for diving instead. Boyce Riddle hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Jacques Doe might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ismael Kline. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacques Doe ran back to his position shaking his head. Tory Pringle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bradly Root, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacques Doe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Kline read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Jacques Doe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacques Doe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Kline having to interfere. When Carrboro's Jacques Doe in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RiverCity Gamblers's goalie prevented a goal. 35 minutes into the match, RiverCity Gamblers's goal looked a bit too open when Jacques Doe came free, but Ismael Kline reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bradly Root kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd match minute, RiverCity Gamblers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casey Michel to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacques Doe made a kick off. Isidro Hewitt, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jacques Doe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ismael Kline tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Carrboro defense, Bradly Root kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tory Pringle. The Carrboro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tory Pringle should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casey Michel in the 67th minute of play forced Carrboro's goalkeeper Tory Pringle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tory Pringle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Vernon in the 71st minute of play. Ismael Kline stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lonnie Cervantes's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Jacques Doe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ismael Kline tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Jacques Doe made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Kline. RiverCity Gamblers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After a rather tough play, Carrboro's Abe Estrada got a free kick in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the match, RiverCity Gamblers's goalkeeper Ismael Kline had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacques Doe. The RiverCity Gamblers fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Carrboro were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
