Rueben Ryan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kareem Richter during the 18th minute. Virga City Vipers's Rueben Ryan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ding Mata in the 37th minute of play. After 38 played minutes Virga City Vipers got a freekick which was hit by Earl Pack. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ding Mata in the 44th minute of play forced Virga City Vipers's goalkeeper Rueben Ryan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Monte Goldsmith charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Monte Goldsmith the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ding Mata made a kick off. The supporters of Universitatea7 Cluj booed when Virga City Vipers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chase Harrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilmer Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Wendell Rooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rueben Ryan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blade Coote, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Milo Schmitt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rueben Ryan. Virga City Vipers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milo Schmitt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. In the 63rd minute, Earl Pack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilmer Robinson hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Ding Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rueben Ryan having to interfere. After 73 minutes of play, Universitatea7 Cluj's Ákos Bartha made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rueben Ryan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute Ding Mata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rueben Ryan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rueben Ryan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blade Coote, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Rueben Ryan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Universitatea7 Cluj's Wilmer Robinson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rueben Ryan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-2. Wendell Rooney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Rueben Ryan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Virga City Vipers's goal looked a bit too open when Blade Coote came free, but Rueben Ryan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Universitatea7 Cluj's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
