Floral City's Curt Herring played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monte Goldsmith in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Floral City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Monte Goldsmith was slow to take the kick. During this time Virga City Vipers's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Edmundo Zaragoza heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blair Merritt to make the kick off. Rueben Ryan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman Land, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After a rather tough play, Virga City Vipers's Lonnie Luke got a free kick in the 58th minute. Floral City were furious when Merle Schmitz was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee gave Virga City Vipers a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Monte Goldsmith, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Floral City's Curt Herring. 0-3. Curt Herring took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blair Merritt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blair Merritt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Curt Herring tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Floral City's Brian Smiley got a free kick in the 78th minute. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Blair Merritt sped through Floral City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Curt Herring. Curt Herring showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blair Merritt in the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th match minute, Floral City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Derrick Pierre to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute, Florian Hood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 100th minute of the match Virga City Vipers got a corner. Floral City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Monte Goldsmith ran over to the corner to take the kick. Virga City Vipers's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
