Felix Cowan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradly Salinas in the 17th minute of the match. Clinton Gould struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Felix Cowan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Victoria. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the game, Roosevelt Denson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Victoria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knoxville United FC the free kick. After 37 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Roosevelt Denson. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bradly Salinas in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Cowan saved Knoxville United FC from getting behind. In the 45th minute of the match, Thanh Maloney tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Shelby Mercer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Victoria's Terrell Lunsford got a free kick in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Knoxville United FC's Brendan Ware nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shelby Mercer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bradly Salinas to strike the kick off in the second half. After 65 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Roosevelt Denson. If Bradly Salinas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Knoxville United FC's Felix Cowan got control of the ball when Terrell Lunsford tried to sneak it across the goal line. Shelby Mercer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Háva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanh Maloney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Shelby Mercer having to make a save. Bradly Salinas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felix Cowan having to make a save. The throw-in from Matthew Thorne in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Victoria's Allan Coats. Knoxville United FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
