Percy Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Gobeo in the 6th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Glauco da Rocha during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. San Martin SJ's Percy Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie Reilly in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Heat Wave Sports's Ernie Wallace got a free kick in the 14th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Kenneth Russ managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heat Wave Sports's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenneth Russ was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Heat Wave Sports's Xavier Gobeo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percy Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heat Wave Sports's goalkeeper Vincenzo Ross, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Werner Cohen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Vincenzo Ross when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 28 minutes into the game, Andreas Hollandsworth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Martin SJ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heat Wave Sports the free kick. Andreas Hollandsworth kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Jamar Holliday had to leave the field with a concussion. Kenneth Russ charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kenneth Russ the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. San Martin SJ made a substitution. Bernardinho Arantes replaced Jamar Holliday. The audience thought a goal was coming when Werner Cohen got free with Vincenzo Ross in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Percy Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Gobeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Werner Cohen made a kick off. A hard shot 61 in the game by Xavier Gobeo from a close distance when the talented Percy Almeida managed to make a qualified save. San Martin SJ's players were relieved. Percy Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Gobeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes, Gregory Farr mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martin SJ and the Heat Wave Sports players grew even worse after the yellow card. Percy Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heat Wave Sports. 77 minutes into the game, Xavier Gobeo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Percy Almeida. Xavier Gobeo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Vincenzo Ross showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Werner Cohen, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. When J.P. Kirkland came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Heat Wave Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that J.P. Kirkland couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Heat Wave Sports's Xavier Gobeo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Heat Wave Sports's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
