The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Moses Jean. 5 minutes into the match, Universitatea7 Cluj's goalkeeper Jamel Ivy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tad Stephens. 6 minutes into the match, Universitatea7 Cluj's goal looked a bit too open when Bradly Salinas came free, but Jamel Ivy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Milo Schmitt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shelby Mercer was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Tad Stephens dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jamel Ivy, 1-1. In the 16th minute, Anthony Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th match minute, Victoria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clinton Gould to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Alvarenga in the 21st minute of play forced Victoria's goalkeeper Shelby Mercer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roosevelt Denson kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Shelby Mercer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ding Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Universitatea7 Cluj booed when Victoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bradly Salinas made a kick off. Denver Chester hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After having played for 66 minutes, Milo Schmitt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Universitatea7 Cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milo Schmitt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Allan Coats fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Victoria's protests and gave Allan Coats a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Allan Coats. 77 minutes into the game, Clinton Gould was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Victoria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universitatea7 Cluj the free kick. A collision led to Victoria getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Clinton Gould hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the game, Tad Stephens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Jamel Ivy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wendell Rooney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Shelby Mercer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jonas Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of Universitatea7 Cluj's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Universitatea7 Cluj may have spent more time on the ball, but Victoria were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
