A collision led to Mathews AFC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Harvey Cho hit a great ball. Chad Whitman struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Ethan Frey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cochituate. After 14 played minutes Mathews AFC got a freekick which was hit by Harvey Cho. Francis Flaherty kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walter Loomis in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ethan Frey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ethan Frey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Loomis in the 20th minute of play. Ethan Frey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Loomis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elliot Gallegos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reyes Edmondson in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Cochituate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clint Crocker to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reyes Edmondson in the 32nd minute of play forced Cochituate's goalkeeper Elliot Gallegos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walter Loomis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ethan Frey having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harvey Cho during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 35 played minutes Mathews AFC got a freekick which was hit by Harvey Cho. In the 36th minute Chad Whitman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ethan Frey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Chad Whitman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ethan Frey was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. When Cochituate's Chad Whitman in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mathews AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 44 minutes into the match, Mathews AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Loomis came free, but Ethan Frey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Walter Loomis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lucas Hogan fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cochituate's protests and gave Lucas Hogan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th match minute, Cochituate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Hogan to maneuver through the defense. Reyes Edmondson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Elliot Gallegos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walter Loomis scored 0-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ethan Frey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ethan Frey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walter Loomis in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Cochituate's Chad Whitman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ethan Frey. That made the score 0-2 after 86 minutes of play. After 91 minutes, Logan Otto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mathews AFC and the Cochituate players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, one of Mathews AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mathews AFC. The goalkeeper, Ethan Frey, was totally fooled by Cochituate's Bryant Stallings, who 93 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Lucas Hogan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cochituate's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Hogan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ethan Frey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
