Spectators: 7741 (Terracing: 5983, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 158) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Reyes Edmondson kicked off to start the match. Mathews AFC's Ethan Frey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Villarreal in the 6th minute of play. Francis Flaherty hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the game, Lake Providence's Ali Patton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ethan Frey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Mathews AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Patton came free, but Ethan Frey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 18th play minutes Ali Patton shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Ethan Frey and just under the crossbar into goal. Ali Patton took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ethan Frey. Ethan Frey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 28 minutes into the match, Lake Providence's goal looked a bit too open when Reyes Edmondson came free, but Antony Cunningham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Mathews AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Logan Otto to maneuver through the defense. Cason Parks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Edward Villarreal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ethan Frey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute Ali Patton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ethan Frey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes in the game Sylvester Todd got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harvey Cho during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 48 minutes of play, Lake Providence's Ali Patton made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ethan Frey was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edward Villarreal made a kick off. When Cason Parks came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mathews AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cason Parks couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darrell Lopes in the 66th minute of play forced Mathews AFC's goalkeeper Ethan Frey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Edward Villarreal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ethan Frey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edward Villarreal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ethan Frey having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Lake Providence got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Pollock. Antony Cunningham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reyes Edmondson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Ali Patton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ethan Frey. Mathews AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ali Patton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Wilton Pollock hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Ralph Hammons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ali Patton scored 0-7 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ethan Frey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lake Providence's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
