Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tom Hager kicked off to start the match. Harvey Dubose received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Scot Davila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Murray Lucas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ripley the free kick. In the 12th minute, one of Barka:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barka. The referee gave Ripley a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Brice Stovall, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Barka's Scot Davila. 0-1. With a little luck, Ripley's Morgan Paul got control of the ball when Cesar Dillon tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barka's goalkeeper Scot Davila, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Denis Rucker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cesar Dillon came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Barka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesar Dillon couldn't finish the play. Scot Davila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harvey Dubose in the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harvey Dubose in the 37th minute of play forced Barka's goalkeeper Scot Davila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tom Hager came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Barka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tom Hager couldn't finish the play. Scot Davila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Rucker in the 42nd minute of play. If Harvey Dubose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Rucker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Scot Davila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harvey Dubose was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Ripley defense, Leif Perdue kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Morgan Paul. The Ripley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Morgan Paul should have stopped the shot. Tom Hager sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denis Rucker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Scot Davila made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Salazar in the 69th minute of play forced Ripley's goalkeeper Morgan Paul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Tom Hager managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barka's supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Hager was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Morgan Paul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tom Hager sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Morgan Paul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Hager in the 75th minute of play. If Tom Hager had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Ripley's goal looked a bit too open when Cesar Dillon came free, but Morgan Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Morgan Paul came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Barka's Tom Hager. But to his dismay, Tom Hager quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Denis Rucker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 played minutes Barka got a freekick which was hit by Murray Lucas. With a little luck, Barka's Scot Davila got control of the ball when Brice Stovall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ripley's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
