Spectators: 7827 (Terracing: 5983, Seating: 1834, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kerry Haas kicked off to start the match. A collision led to San Diego Lightning getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Dalton Lockett hit a great ball. Lloyd Irvin came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Springville's Mervin Palmer. But to his dismay, Mervin Palmer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Haas in the 15th minute of play forced San Diego Lightning's goalkeeper Lloyd Irvin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lloyd Irvin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Haas in the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, one of San Diego Lightning:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for San Diego Lightning. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Sanford Cullen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kerry Haas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd match minute, Springville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doug Merchant to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the game, Springville's Kerry Haas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lloyd Irvin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 45 minutes into the match, San Diego Lightning's Quincy Barney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sanford Cullen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Jaime Lockwood had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sanford Cullen. Springville's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Lockwood was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After the first half Springville were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quincy Barney made a kick off. Kerry Haas struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Lloyd Irvin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Springville. After 61 minutes, Titus Ruffin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Springville and the San Diego Lightning players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of San Diego Lightning booed when Springville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Titus Ruffin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mervin Palmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lloyd Irvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Haas, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mervin Palmer got free with Lloyd Irvin in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mervin Palmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Lloyd Irvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kerry Haas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Springville's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Kerry Haas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mervin Palmer might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lloyd Irvin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mervin Palmer ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 90th minute, Jaime Lockwood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sanford Cullen was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 94 minutes into the match, Mervin Palmer notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of San Diego Lightning's Lloyd Irvin. Lloyd Irvin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lloyd Irvin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mervin Palmer went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-5 was the resulting score.
