Young Puckett came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tião Galvão could save by the left post. Ernest Dukes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Galvão having to interfere. After 24 minutes of play, Pollock Pines AFC's Joe Schmitt made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Michael Parnell was left in no man's land by his defense there! 28 minutes into the match, Oswego's goal looked a bit too open when Joe Schmitt came free, but Michael Parnell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Terrance Agoos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 31 minutes into the game, Pollock Pines AFC's Terrance Agoos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Michael Parnell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. If Ernest Dukes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Jorge Cote ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michael Parnell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernest Dukes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Pollock Pines AFC's Collin Lyles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Young Puckett's late challenge caught a Pollock Pines AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Young Puckett helped the player get up and apologised. Tião Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Young Puckett in the 71st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pollock Pines AFC's Vince Whittaker got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute Ernest Dukes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joe Schmitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jesse Calcagnini during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dominique Fields did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Michael Parnell 82 minutes into the match. Pollock Pines AFC's Willis Tovar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Michael Parnell in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
