Leo Huber started the match with the kick off. Harvey Bush showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Huber in the 3rd minute of the match. Leo Huber might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harvey Bush. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leo Huber ran back to his position shaking his head. Tuan Napier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casey Pierre in the 24th minute of play. Scott Mayberry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Tuan Napier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 minutes of play, Inter Miami CF's Casey Pierre made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tuan Napier was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claude Ziegler kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Bernie Whitfield's late challenge caught a Inter Miami CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernie Whitfield helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Effingham's Bernie Whitfield got a free kick in the 36th minute. Inter Miami CF's Harvey Bush played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dylan Lott in the 40th minute of play. Guy Farmer got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Scott Mayberry. After a defensive mix-up in Inter Miami CF's zone, Leo Huber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harvey Bush came out of the goal and Leo Huber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When Guy Farmer fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter Miami CF's protests and gave Guy Farmer a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Inter Miami CF's Derek Summers got a free kick in the 57th minute. Harvey Bush didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 60th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Scott Mayberry charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Scott Mayberry the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Effingham booed when Inter Miami CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Scott Mayberry didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Frankie Alvarado fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Effingham's protests and gave Frankie Alvarado a yellow card for diving instead. Bruce Burnham hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Claude Ziegler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Miami CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Ziegler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Effingham's Leo Huber in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inter Miami CF's goalie prevented a goal. Harvey Bush made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Huber in the 78th minute of play. Tuan Napier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Ziegler in the 91st minute of play. Chad Hare kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Claude Ziegler, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Leo Huber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Harvey Bush tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
