Weymouth Arena
Spectators: 6500 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hal McQueen started the match with the kick off. In the 2ndth minute of the game Leo Huber who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Weymouth Soccer's Harry Holden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Deshawn Bain hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With 9 minutes on the clock, Mel Little commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 9th minute, one of Effingham:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Effingham. Harry Holden stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dylan Lott's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Effingham's Dylan Lott sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Harry Holden narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute Hal McQueen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tuan Napier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Tuan Napier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 27 minutes into the match, Effingham's goal looked a bit too open when Hal McQueen came free, but Tuan Napier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chad Hare during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 28 played minutes Effingham got a freekick which was hit by Chad Hare. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hal McQueen in the 32nd minute of play forced Effingham's goalkeeper Tuan Napier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Effingham getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Bernie Whitfield hit a great ball. In the 34th minute Hal McQueen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tuan Napier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Effingham's Chad Hare got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Effingham getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Frankie Alvarado hit a great ball. Weymouth Soccer's Tyrone Doe shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 39th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tuan Napier but with some difficulty. Hal McQueen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tuan Napier came out and tried to block the shot, but Hal McQueen slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 41st minute. Tuan Napier was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Randell Mullins capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Randell Mullins really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dylan Lott made a kick off. After 55 played minutes Effingham got a freekick which was hit by Chad Hare. Tuan Napier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deshawn Bain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Dylan Lott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th match minute, Weymouth Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hal McQueen to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Weymouth Soccer booed when Effingham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro McGraw didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Effingham's goal looked a bit too open when Randell Mullins came free, but Tuan Napier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tuan Napier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Brandon went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Effingham's Tuan Napier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hal McQueen in the 73rd minute of play. If Bernie Whitfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tuan Napier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hal McQueen, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Deshawn Bain had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tuan Napier. Effingham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Deshawn Bain was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Tuan Napier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deshawn Bain in the 88th minute of play. Tuan Napier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Brandon in the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Deshawn Bain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Tuan Napier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Waylon Gillis charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waylon Gillis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 95th minute, Waylon Gillis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Weymouth Soccer players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
