Tuan Napier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from DeAndre Hamby in the 8th minute of the match. A wasted opportunity for Port Vale F.C.. 26 minutes into the match, C.J. Felix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tuan Napier. Effingham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that C.J. Felix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leo Huber to make the kick off. The long shot by Elvis Calderon in the 78th minute really tested Tuan Napier's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 80 minutes of play, Effingham's Leo Huber made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Domenico Sousa was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Elvis Calderon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Leo Huber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Effingham's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Huber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domenico Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tuan Napier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joshua Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
