Harry Holden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quincy Barney in the 12th minute of play. Weymouth Soccer's Randell Mullins got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hal McQueen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Weymouth Soccer booed when San Diego Lightning was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalton Lockett didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Waldo Means hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Randell Mullins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Weymouth Soccer fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hal McQueen in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lloyd Irvin saved San Diego Lightning from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hal McQueen in the 37th minute of play forced San Diego Lightning's goalkeeper Lloyd Irvin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in San Diego Lightning's zone, Randell Mullins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lloyd Irvin came out of the goal and Randell Mullins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne Roe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lloyd Irvin. San Diego Lightning's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. During the 42nd minute of the match Waldo Means completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Waldo Means a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 43 played minutes San Diego Lightning got a freekick which was hit by Waldo Means. Hal McQueen took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lloyd Irvin. Lloyd Irvin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After the first half Weymouth Soccer were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jaime Lockwood made the kick off in the second half. Kristofer Neely kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Harry Holden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Lockwood in the 55th minute of play. Jaime Brandon charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Brandon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 55th match minute, Weymouth Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Brandon to maneuver through the defense. Randell Mullins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Randell Mullins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Lloyd Irvin made a huge save. A collision led to Weymouth Soccer getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Hal McQueen hit a great ball. Randell Mullins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Lloyd Irvin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lloyd Irvin made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Randell Mullins sent off a good shot on target. Randell Mullins who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Lloyd Irvin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Randell Mullins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Lloyd Irvin made a huge save. Randell Mullins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hal McQueen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Randell Mullins in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lloyd Irvin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hal McQueen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lloyd Irvin having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Hal McQueen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lloyd Irvin was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Lloyd Irvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hal McQueen, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Weymouth Soccer's Hal McQueen got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The San Diego Lightning fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Weymouth Soccer were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
