Spectators: 7858 (Terracing: 6007, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 10) Effingham's Leo Huber started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in San Diego Lightning's zone, Leo Huber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lloyd Irvin came out of the goal and Leo Huber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Waldo Means got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leo Huber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lloyd Irvin having to interfere. Bernie Whitfield charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernie Whitfield the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernie Whitfield kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Leo Huber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes into the game, Effingham's Leo Huber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lloyd Irvin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, Quincy Barney dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tuan Napier, 2-1. Quincy Barney kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Leo Huber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lloyd Irvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chad Hare might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lloyd Irvin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chad Hare ran back to his position shaking his head. Lloyd Irvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Huber, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quincy Barney was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Diego Lightning's goalkeeper Lloyd Irvin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leo Huber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lloyd Irvin having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, San Diego Lightning's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Huber came free, but Lloyd Irvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tyler Randolph's late challenge caught a Effingham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tyler Randolph helped the player get up and apologised. 67 minutes into the match, Leo Huber dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lloyd Irvin, 2-2. Lloyd Irvin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chad Hare in the 74th minute of play. Lloyd Irvin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Huber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dylan Lott was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Lloyd Irvin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Huber in the 77th minute of the match. In the 79thth minute of the game Leo Huber who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Diego Lightning's Lloyd Irvin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tuan Napier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Lockwood in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Effingham's Isidro McGraw got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After 86 played minutes Effingham got a freekick which was hit by Chad Hare. In the 87th minute of the match Dominic Goode shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tuan Napier showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 2-3 became the score in the 90th minute when Leo Huber elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Leo Huber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lloyd Irvin having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Effingham left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than San Diego Lightning.
