Bradley Trimble sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kenner's Oren Gorman got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kenner's Glen Sadler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Chamberlain in the 13th minute of play. A hard shot 15 in the game by Oren Gorman from a close distance when the talented Wade Downey managed to make a qualified save. Santa Rita FC's players were relieved. Jamar Shaw's late challenge caught a Santa Rita FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jamar Shaw helped the player get up and apologised. Glen Sadler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Craig Akins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Korey Wang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 27 minutes, Gustavo Chamberlain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Rita FC and the Kenner players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Kenner got a freekick which was hit by Oren Gorman. Glen Sadler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Chamberlain in the 29th minute of play. Glen Sadler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Chamberlain in the 31st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lanny Melton during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 34 minutes into the game, Gustavo Chamberlain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Glen Sadler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th match minute, Kenner was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thaddeus Kessler to maneuver through the defense. If Cristobal Root had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Kenner players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Santa Rita FC were winning 0-1.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Chamberlain got free with Glen Sadler in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustavo Chamberlain could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Glen Sadler made a huge save. Craig Akins took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Glen Sadler. Glen Sadler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Glen Sadler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kermit Duff in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Kenner's goalkeeper Glen Sadler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Chamberlain. Wade Downey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oren Gorman's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After a rather tough play, Santa Rita FC's Korey Wang got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Glen Sadler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Chamberlain in the 79th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Craig Akins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Rita FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Craig Akins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zachery Lincoln kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Gustavo Chamberlain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute Jamar Shaw shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wade Downey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Kenner's Glen Sadler got control of the ball when Gustavo Chamberlain tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oren Gorman in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wade Downey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kenner were furious when Sal McKinley was red carded, 97 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kenner fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 97th minute. Penalty!
