Ali Thomson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Donaldson, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the INTER FC defense, Ned Turner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cedric Abbott. The INTER FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cedric Abbott should have stopped the shot. Cedric Abbott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luther Fitzpatrick in the 29th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jesus Donaldson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Menlo's Ali Thomson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesus Donaldson in the 77th minute of play. Menlo's Ali Thomson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Menlo from getting a goal against them. Jesus Donaldson struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Ali Thomson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for INTER FC.
